100 Days of Grace Day #86

Kalief Browder

In 2010, at the age of 16, Kalief Browder was falsely accused of the theft of a backpack in New York City. Kalief was innocent and imprisoned awaiting trial on Reikers Island for three years with over 800 days starved and tortured in solitary confinement. Two years after his release from prison, Kalief committed suicide.

White people, we have to stop looking away. And speak his name.

Watch “Time - The Kalief Browder Story” on Netflix. And while you are at it, watch “13th” too.
